Unicycle, Christmas Cards

I come from a family of circus performers! Not really but most would see it that way. Most of my family ride unicycles, with the exception of me. My Mom called me and asked if there was a Cricut cartridge with a unicycle. After a bit of searching I discovered two, Carnival and the one I used Jolly Holidays. My Mom said she would buy the cartridge for me if I make her a Christmas card for the leader of their unicycle club. I couldn't pass up an offer like that, so I have made a few similar looking cards to give her a choice and I can give the extras to my unicycle riding uncles. A BIG THANKS to my Mom for this new Cartridge.

I have taken the advice of my #1 follower/commenter Susan and entered this card in Fantabulous Cricut's Challenge # 88 - Holiday Cards

Love you Mom,

Colin

Cricut Cardz Challenge #96

This challenge was: Challenge #96 "Christmas: Say It with S!" Make a card for Christmas using an image that starts with the letter S, using any cartridge(s) and any colors you'd like.

Check it out @ Cardz Tv

Here is my creation, though not a card, I used the Skate cut from Winter Woodland to make a broach.
I tried to do this with felt first, but quickly leaned that it doesn't cut well. I cut several shadow layers and glued them together to give it some support. this is not quite finished, I would still like to lightly sand the edges to make them even. I would also like to apply a finish of some sort to protect it a bit from ware. I learned that I am not good with a glue gun, so excuse the mess of the glued backing.

Skate on,

Colin

Joy!

I want to first mention that I am sorry for my lack of posts. I have been in money saving mode and have been working like a demon. I started this with the intention of posting more than once a week. Thank you for your patience, after the holidays I will try a bit harder at posting.

My post for today is my first Christmas card! I have a few cards I have been working on, so this is the first of many. I have lots of cards to make for the holidays (finding time is another thing), so when I saw the 'Bitten by the Bug 2 - Winter Woodland...Joy Challenge' I saw it as a chance to get another card out of the way. I have been making a few cards out of Tag cuts, and so I continued that with this card. I don't have a Gypsy so I have to cut 2 layers the same and glue them together to make a card. This card was made with the Cricut - Winter Woodland cartridge. Hope you enJOY!

Another Birthday, Another Cow?

So this has become my standard, as far a birthday cards go. Ask the person their favorite animal and then their favorite color and throw it all into a card. I was going to enter this in Cardz TV Challenge #1 - "Just My Style"  but I was a day late.
I must say I was shocked to have another cow card so soon. I didn't know cows were all that popular.
This card was made with Cricut - Create a Critter and a stamp form Micheal's.

Mooo,

Happy Birthday Sis'

My sisters though NOT twins share a birthday. I have made each their own card with their favorite colour and animal. Enjoy!

This one is for the older of the two, Jen. She likes cows and pink. I used Create a Critter for the cow and milk. The paper is DCWV - Street Lace.
Emily the youngest of all of us kids, loves polar bears! I didn't have a bear cut out that I liked, so I used a calender that I bought her but never ended up giving her for the image. She likes blue, fitting for a polar bear card I think. I used my favorite Argyle card from Wild Card, and Damask Decor, for the scallop around the image. All stamps are from Micheal's.

Happy Birthday and Happy Crafting,

Colin

Bitten by the Bug and Paper Playtime Challenge

I have made this card for two challenges.

Bitten by the Bug 2 - Heritage... Accent 9 challenge

Good morning everyone!! This week, I asked the designers to use the Accent9 (fancy corner) from the Heritage cart. I love what they did!!

Now, you know if you don't have Heritage, you can participate by using any cart with a fancy corner. Please make sure you're submitting a new project!

Paper Playtime - Ch# 60 Cricut Creations: THANK YOU PROJECTS
I don't have a quote, but the challenge was to make a Thank you project (hence the title)

I love thank you cards. I think there is always an occasion to make and use them. This card I based around the corners. I wanted to participate in Bitten by the Bug's challenge, but the only cartridge I have with corner cuts is Straight From The Nest. I don't know how fancy the corners are but when I saw them I thought they would go well with the cuts I used from the Serenade cartridge (bird and bird house). The thank you stamp is from a set I bought at Micheal's and the punch is EK.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge - #85 – Book Lover

Challenge #85 – Book Lover

Create a project that has something to do with a book. You can make your own book, include the image of a book on your project, design a bookmark, etc.

When I saw this  challenge, I first thought of the Library Card cut from Sentimentals. As I started this project I knew I needed to spice it up a little. I love the Cricut Sentimentals cartridge, but I don't love the card that comes with this cut. Like me I know your asking yourself why would you need to make a library card and pocket for your personal books? I have one friend who could benefit from this, maybe you do too. I started thinking of alternative uses for the book card and pocket, and I thought that you could use it as a way to personalize books you give as a gift. Most of the time you would just write a note on the inside cover, but this may be a nice way to achieve the same effect.

The pocket is the Library Card cut from Sentimentals cartridge. As I mentioned I didn't like the card that goes with this cut, so I decided to make one from Damask Decor's Tag feature. The tag is and Pocket I cut a 5". I have left the back of the tag empty for a personal note, or if you have an extensive personal library, you can use it for it's original purpose.

New Name!

As you may have noticed, I have changed my name and address to Crimson Cricut. When I first made my blog, I didn't know how I was going to use it. I thought I would use it as a general blog for myself and my crafts, but I have quickly realized that I am going to fill it with Cricut crafts. My world has changed since I bought my Cricut and I can't see how I got on with out it. I had a little inspiration for my blog title, that came as an early Christmas present...

I introduce you too my new Crimson Cricut Expression.

Birthday Card

I'm sorry that I haven't posted in a while, real life has gotten in the way of my crafts. Although I have been busy I have been working on a few things, as well as experimenting with my Cricut.  This is a project I have actually been able to finish, and will be given as a birthday card for a friend.

This card was created using Rock Princess Cricut cartridge, and the pink background is from DCWV - Street Lace.
